William Moulton was a silversmith in Newburyport, Massachusetts, and was from a family of silversmiths. His wife was Statira Preble Moulton. A document in this collection lists the following children: Joseph (a jeweler in Newburyport), Harriet Moulton (Mrs. John N.) Kent of Newbury, Nathan N. of Ramsey, Illinois, Mary, Rebecca, and William H. By April 1864, Mary, Rebecca, and William H. were deceased and had left no children.
