Wyly, Percy, II

Percy Wyly, II, was Special Agent in Charge of the Dallas, Texas, office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation from August 1945 through September 1947. He was a graduate of Vanderbilt University, and before joining the Bureau, practiced law and served in the Oklahoma State Legislature. He came to Dallas with ten years service in the FBI, seven of those as special agent in charge of offices including Jackson, Mississippi, and Indianapolis, Indiana. During his tenure in Dallas, Wyly authored a telex to J. Edgar Hoover on July 8, 1947, regarding the Roswell crash debris. Wyly assumed responsibility for the New Orleans FBI office on October 1, 1947. The Federal Bureau of Investigation has maintained an office in Dallas since 1914.
