Nodland, Truman Raymond, 1907-1979.

Truman Nodland was born in Iowa and completed both his B.S. and Ph. D. at the University of Minnesota College of Agriculture. He began working for the Dept. of Agricultural Economics during his undergraduate years and continued his entire career in that department, retiring in 1976. Nodland was active in the Minnesota Farm Manager's Assn, helped found and develop the Southeastern Farm Management Assn., served as an advisor to the Farmhouse Fraternity and was a member of its national board. Nodland wrote over 285 publications, including Experiment Station Bulletins.

Truman Raymond Nodland was born in Iowa in 1907 and completed both his B.S. (1934) and Ph.D. (1949) at the University of Minnesota's College of Agriculture. He began working for the Department of Agricultural Economics, now the Department of Applied Economics, during his undergraduate years in the School of Agriculture. He continued to work in this department throughout his entire career, eventually becoming a full professor in 1961. Professor Nodland retired from the University in 1976, and died in 1979.

Professor Nodland was very active in the Minnesota Farm Manager's Association, serving as secretary-treasurer from 1951-1973. He was instrumental in founding, and in the development of, the Southeastern Farm Management Association from 1927-1976, as well as serving as an advisor to Farmhouse Fraternity and being a member of its national board. Professor Nodland wrote over 285 publications, including Agricultural Experiment Station Bulletins.
