Young, Emily Dow Partridge Smith, 1824-1899.
Emily Dow Partridge was born on 20 February 1824 in Painsville, Grange County, Ohio, to Edward and Lydia Partridge. Her parents were converted to the LDS Church in 1830. The family gathered and experienced the hardships with the rest of the church members in Ohio, Missouri, and Illinois. Emily was married as a polygamous wife to Joseph Smith and later to Brigham Young. Her life story parallels the history of the early church until her death in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1899.
