Midwest Sociologists for Women in Society was founded in April 1975 at the Midwest Sociological Society annual meeting in Chicago. It published the Tapestries newsletter and then Midwest Feminist Papers on a fairly regular basis. However, the group grew slowly, totalling about 110 members thirteen years after its founding.
