Lindley, Lucy

Lucy Virginia Allen married Daniel Lindley in 1834, becoming Lucy Lindley ; they were sent by the American Board of Missions to South Africa, where they were first posted in Matabeleland ; in 1842, Lindley led the founding congregation of the first Dutch Reformed Church ; in 1847, he established a station at Inanda. Lucy Lindley accompanied him in his missionary and educational efforts and was involved with his work ; the Lindley family, including their eleven children, moved to the Inanda Mission in 1858 ; Lucy and Daniel Lindley retired in 1873 and retired to Morristown, New Jersey.
