French, Robert, 1749-1811

p.195.1811. Haddonfield: Robert French, an Elder, member of Chester monthly meeting, died the 10th of 2nd month last, in the 62nd year of his age.

p.66. 1785. Robert French and Hannah Warrington appeared and declared the continuation of their intentions of marriage with each other, the Friends appointed reporting nothing to obstruct their proceedings they are at liberty to consummate their marriage, and John Collins and Joshua Hunt are appointed to be present, see that good order be kept and report to next meeting.

p.278. 6th Month 1803. The friends appointed to attend the marriage of Robert French and Elizabeth Stokes report it orderly accomplished.

Thomas French was born the 26th day of the 12th month 1745. Elizabeth French was born the 29th of the 2nd month 1747. Robert French was born the 10 day of 3rd month 1749. James French was born the 1st of the 3rd month 1751. Joseph French was born the 14th day 10th month 1753. Keriah French was born the 11th of the 5th month 1756. Ann French was born the 26th day of 10th month 1758.
Burials: 27th of 6th month 1801 Hannah French, departed this life aged 85. Elizabeth French departed this life Elizabeth Ferguson 10th of the 3rd month 1767. Hannah French wife of Robert departed this life the 4 month 1786. Joseph French departed this life 2 weeks old.

Whereas Robert French son of Robert French deceased of Chester in the County of Burlington and Western Division of New Jersey, and Hannah Warrington daughter of Thomas Warrington of the same place, having declared their intentions of marriage with each other, before several monthly meetings of the people called Quakers at Evesham, in the county aforesaid according to the good order used amongst them, and having consent of parents concerned, their proposal of marriage was allowed of by the said meeting... Now there are to certify whom it may concern, that for the full accomplishing their said intentions this fifteenth day of the second month in the year of our lord one thousand and seven hundred and eighty five...

Robert French departed this life the 10th of the 2nd month 1811 aged 61 years and 11 months him being an Elder in good esteem.
