Hopkins, Edwin Mortimer, 1862-

Edwin Mortimer Hopkins was a member of the Princeton University class of 1888, earning an AB in English and completing his MA a year later. After graduating he became a faculty member at the University of Kansas, returning briefly to Princeton to complete his pHD in 1894. Hopkins served on the faculty at the University of Kansas from 1891 until 1937. During his time there he was instrumental in forming the National Council of Teachers of English and the American Quill Society.

Hopkins received his A.B. in 1888 and his Ph.D. in 1894 from Princeton. He joined the faculty in 1889, reaching full Professor status in 1893. He died in 1946.
