Dr. Souchon (1841-1924) was born Dec. 1, 1841, in Opelousas, La., of French parents. He studied medicine in Paris, returning to New Orleans after the death of his father. He graduated from the University of Louisiana (an earlier name of Tulane University) in 1867. In 1869, he married Corinne Lavie, and they had three children.
