John Moore, a judge, and politician of Saint Mary, Saint Landry and Iberia Parishes of Louisiana, served as a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, 1825-1834. He was a member of the 26th and 27th Congresses of Louisiana (1840-1843), was elected to the 32nd Congress, and was a delegate to the State Secession Convention, 1861, where he introduced the Louisiana Secession Ordinance.
