Charles Hopkins Brown (1913-1975), a journalist, graduated from Dartmouth in 1935 before going on a world tour in 1935-1936 and doing occasional free-lance writing while traveling. In 1938 he was a free-lance writer in Palestine before working as a reporter for the Pittsburgh "Post-Gazette" from 1940-1942.
