Robert Bolling (1759-1839), the son of Robert Bolling (1730-1775) and Mary Marshall (Tabb) Bolling, was a prominent landowner, active in the growth and development of Petersburg, Va. He was a plantation owner, tobacco merchant, surveyor, and a leading town office holder.
