History notes:

Creative Services was established in 1985 within the Office of University Relations when Betty Sherman was hired to oversee the publications unit and the graphic arts unit at UAB. She served until 1993. In this position, she managed the creative units by coordinating writing and visuals; assigning writing and editing to writers and editors; and working with the chief graphic artist in making design assignments. She was also responsible for personnel management in the creative units; development and administration of a unified budget for publications and graphics; maintenance of client contact at the management level; and development of strategies to continually improve the UAB creative services and production capabilities. Today, Creative Services is part of the Office of Public Relations and Marketing.
