Holland family.
Biographical notes:
The Holland family is descended from several early Pittsburgh families, Bartow, Benezet, Doughty, Horsfield, Moorehead, NOble and Wolle. Francis Raymond Holland settled in Pennsylvania in the mid 1800's. William Jacob Holland was Director of the Carnegie Institute, Chancellor of the University of Pittsburgh, and Pastor of the Bellefield Presbyterian Church. He helped in the discovery of the Diplodocus dinosaur and wrote definitive books on moths and butterflies.
