Biographical notes:
Dr. Julius Isaac Foust (1865-1946) was a professor of pedagogy and then served as president of the Woman's College of the University of North Carolina from 1906 to 1934. During Foust's tenure the name of the school changed from the North Carolina State Normal and Industrial College (1897-1919) to the North Carolina College for Women (1919-1932) to the Woman's College of the University of North Carolina (1932-1963).
