Biographical notes:

Poet and physician.

Robert D. Joyce was born in Glenosheen, Co. Limerick in 1836. He earned his medical degree from Queens College, Dublin. In 1866, Joyce immigrated to the United States and settled in Boston, Massachusetts. He returned to Ireland in September 1883 and died in Dublin on October 24, 1883.
