Biographical notes:

Formed in January 1979, the State Executive Budget and Planning Division of the Dept. of Administration (WIHV85-A694) oversaw functions previously performed by the State Budget Office (WIHV85-A796), the Office of State Planning and Energy (WIHV85-A778), and the Office of Federal-State Relations within the Executive Services Division (WIHV87-A272). In 1995, it was merged with the Division of State Finance and Program Management to form a new Division of State Executive Budget and Finance (WIHV98-A644).

The Division provided statewide budget and policy analysis, advised the governor in the development of executive budget proposals, and assisted agencies in the technical preparation of budget requests. The division's planning responsibilities included economic development, human resources, and environmental protection. Other duties included federal grant review and coordination, demographic research, management and program evaluation, and maintenance of the position management information system and the governor's appointment register.
