Robert Quackenbush was born July 23, 1929, in Hollywood, CA. Shortly after his birth the family moved to Phoenix, AZ. He is known for his many mystery books for young readers. In addition to his mysteries, Quackenbush has also written and illustrated many other children's books, including a series of humorous biographies of famous people. Quackenbush's artwork is as much appreciated as are his writings. He has illustrated his own books and many by other authors as well. His artwork ranges from water colors to oil paintings, and from pen-and-ink drawings to woodcuts.
