Biographical notes:

The Treasury of Great Britain was managed by Anthony Ashley Cooper, Chancellor of the Exchequer, from May 13, 1661 to 1672. He was named Lord Ashley on April 20, 1661 and held that title until becoming Earl of Shaftesbury.
