United Evangelical Lutheran Church (U.S.)
Variant namesBiographical notes:
The United Evangelical Lutheran Church was organized in October 1896 when the Danish Evangelical Lutheran Church in North America ("North Church") and the Danish Evangelical Lutheran Church Association ("Blair Church") merged. The United Evangelical Lutheran Church held annual conventions from its organization in 1896 through its merger to form The American Lutheran Church in 1960. The annual conventions were the highest administrative body in the UELC. Between conventions, the elected officers and the church council carried out decisions made by the conventions.
