William Harrison Standley (1872-1963) was a naval officer, and Chief of Naval Operations from July 1, 1933 to January 1, 1937.

William H. Standley was Chief of Naval Operations, 1933-1937. His career posts included Commandant of Midshipment, USNA, 1918-1919 and CO, Battle Force, USFLT, 1933. He attended the Naval War College, 1920-21. He retired in 1937 and served as US Ambassador to Russia, 1942-1943 and as a member of the Pearl Harbor Roberts Commission.
