Biographical notes:

South Carolina family. Harriet Porcher Gaillard (1828-1893) was the daughter of plantation owner Peter Gaillard (1783-1843) of St. John's Berkeley and St. Stephen's Parish, S.C. She married her first cousin Samuel David Stoney (1822-1892) in 1852.
