Maurice C. Burritt (Cornell University Class of 1908, M.S. 1910) was vice-director and later director of Extension, Cornell University (1917-1924); a member of the board of the Western New York Fruit Growers Cooperative Packing Association (1925+); director and fiscal officer of the Grange League Federation (1924-1928); a member of the Agricultural Advisory Commissions of Governors Roosevelt and Lehman; member, New York State Public Service Commission (1930-1949); president (1932-1939) and director (1932-1956) of the State Bank of Hilton and an official in other banks and loans associations; leader in the Farm Bureau Federation; Alumni Trustee (1934-1941); author of APPLE GROWING and THE COUNTY AGENT AND THE FARM BUREAU; and owner and operator of Beechwood Farm, Hilton, New York.
