Biographical notes:
Robert Gordon Newby was born on Christmas Day in 1898 in Sask, Canada. His parents moved to the United States in 1905 and in 1907 they were baptized into the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In 1911 he was baptized into the same church and in 1920 he married Mabel E. Anderson who had been brought up a member of the Reorganized Church.
