A resident of Lenox, of Massachusetts, Walker served as an officer in the Continental Army and resided ca. 1788-1790 in Canandaigua, New York, employed as a surveyor and land agent for Gorham, Phelps & Co., proprietors of the Phelps and Gorham purchase (or "Massachusetts Tract") in western New York, including lands located today in Monroe and Ontario County, New York. Walker died in Lenox, Massachusetts in 1831.
