Biographical notes:

Dr. Herbert C. Miller, D.D.S., M.D., was born June 19, 1864, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

He was educated at the Missouri Dental college, where he obtained his D.D.S. in 1885. He graduated as an M.D. from the St. Louis Medical College in 1887.

Dr. Miller began practice in Nebraska City, Nebraska, 1887. He arrived in Portland January 7, 1891, where he entered practice. He became an American citizen January 6, 1894. He founded North Pacific College of Dentistry in 1898. The building was erected in 1910. In 1912, Dr. Miller discontinued practice and devoted his time soley to the school. As president, he arranged the transfer of the North Pacific College of Dentistry to the State of Oregon in 1945.

On December 20, 1947, Dr. Miller died at home in Newport, Oregon.
