Biographical notes:

Founded in 1920, the National Association of Principals of Schools for Girls grew out of work done by members of the Association of Collegiate Alumnae, later the American Association of University Women. Its purpose was to investigate problems bearing on the organization, administration, and function of private education for girls and to this end committees were established to meet with representatives from colleges and the College Entrance Board.
