Biographical notes:

Samuel Harmsted Chubb was an osteologist affiliated with the American Museum of Natural History. He studied the movements of animals, primarily horses and other equids, by photographing them in successive intervals in order to mount skeletons in dynamic positions. Chubb died in 1949.
