Biographical notes:

The Georgia Farm School and Resettlement Bureau was organized in 1939 as a non-profit agency dedicated to the resettlement and retraining of Jewish refugees. Although initially agricultural in orientation, the Bureau modified its focus to include a wide variety of services and training opportunities. As the political climate in Europe worsened, the Bureau developed a working relationship with the National Refugee Service which enabled it to disseminate information on immigration possibilities for Jewish citizens of occupied territories. The Bureau suspended all activities on December 12, 1941 for fear of enemy alien infiltration.
