The expedition was equipped, financed, and led by Charles L. Bernheimer. Earl H. Morris was in charge of the archaeological work. The album covers are embossed with "Charles L. Bernheimer: Rough rider journeys in Arizona, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, 1917, 1918, 1919, 1920, 1921."
