Bess Streeter Aldrich was a writer in the early twentieth century. She wrote articles for numerous magazines including Ladies Home Journal and Harpers Weekly under the psuedonym Margaret Dean Stevens. She attended the Iowa State Teachers College (now the University of Northern Iowa), receiving her degree in 1901. Streeter lived in Elmwood, Nebraska with her husband and her three children.
