Robert L. Anderson (b. 1944), educator, community leader, and Vietnam Veteran, has been at the center of progressive, political activism on many fronts. Anderson is a member of the Vietnam Veterans Against the War, and along with four other members, was present at the 1973 occupation of the Pine Ridge Reservation, supporting the American Indian Movement.

Robert L. Anderson (b. 1944), educator, community leader, and Vietnam Veteran, has been at the center of progressive, political activism on many fronts. Anderson is a member of the Vietnam Veterans Against the War, and along with four other New Mexico Vietnam Veterans against the War, was present at the 1973 occupation of the Pine Ridge Reservation, supporting the American Indian Movement. Anderson has been a labor union organizer, and ran for Congress as a New Mexico Green Party candidate in 1998.
Anderson earned his B.A. in English Literature from University of South Florida (1971), M.A. in Public Policy Management from Carnegie Mellon University (1987), and Ph.D. in American Studies from the University of New Mexico (2000). He has extensive teaching, writing and research experience, and continues to be an activist, focusing primarily on social and environmental justice.
