Biographical notes:
Janet Gertrude (Nettie) Palmer, writer and critic was committed to the development of a national Australian literature,.but she also wrote widely on world literature, based on her international education and knowledge. In 1925, she and her husband Vance, moved to Caloundra, Queensland, and in 1932, they camped for 8 months on Green Island.
