Charles F. Brannan was Assistant Regional Attorney for the Resettlement Administration in Denver, Colorado, from 1935 to 1937, then Regional Attorney for the Office of the Solicitor of the U.S. Department of Agriculture from 1937 to 1941. He was an official at the Farm Security Administration from 1941 to 1944. From 1944 to 1948 Brannan served as the Assistant Secretary of Agriculture, then as Secretary of Agriculture from 1948 to 1953. Brannan was also General Counsel for the National Farmers Union from ca. 1953 to 1990.
