Biographical notes:
Cornelia James was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, and graduated from Radcliffe College in 1899. In 1901, she married Walter Bradford Cannon. She was an early birth control advocate, serving as president of the Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts, and was a published author.
