Quinn, Bob (J. A. Robert)

Biographical notes:

Bob Quinn owned the Boston Red Sox from 1923-1932 and was general manager of the Brooklyn Dodgers (1932) and the Boston Braves (1932-1942). He was also head of the Boston Braves farm system (1942-1943). Al Lopez played for Brooklyn of the National League (1928, 1930-1935, known as the Robins 1914-1931, then Dodgers 1932- ), Boston Bees of the National League (1936-1940), Pittsburgh Pirates (1940-1946), and the Cleveland Indians (1947). Lopez is best known, however, as a manager. He managed the Cleveland Indians (1951-1956) and the Chicago White Sox (1957-1965, 1968-1969). He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1977.
