Biographical notes:
Henry Morgan (1810-1887) and Edwin Barber Morgan (1806-1881) were born in Aurora, N.Y., the sons of Christopher (1777-1834) and Nancy Barber Morgan (1785-1864). Christopher Morgan was one of the earliest settlers of Western New York, became a successful owner and operator of a general store, and acquired one of the largest estates in New York. In 1831 Henry Morgan became a partner in the Morgan Store and directed the buying and shipping of produce. The prosperous business remained in the family until 1919.
