Ellsworth, Oliver, 1820-1878
Variant namesOliver Ellsworth was born at Ellington, Connecticut. Around 1837, he moved to Bloomington, Illinois and learned blacksmithing from Lewis Bunn. He later became a partner in the business and remained so until his death. As a young man, he worked at Loriston R. Livingston Scale Manufactory on Front Street in Pittsburgh.
