Biographical notes:
By the 1797 Treaty of Big Tree, a contract entered into between Robert Morris and the Seneca Nation of Indians under the sanction of the United States government, the Seneca Indians ceded most of their lands in western New York. In return, they received $100,000 to be invested in the Bank of the United States. Certain Seneca leaders including Cornplanter, Red Jacket, Young King, Farmer's Brother and Little Billy also received cash payments and/or annuities. Young King was paid a $100 annual annuity.
