He was the author of several books on the Civil War and railroads, including THE WILDERNESS CAMPAIGN, MILITARY MEMOIRS OF A CONFEDERATE, THE CONFEDERATE VETERAN, FIGHTING FOR THE CONFEDERACY, SKETCH OF LONGSTREET'S DIVISION--YORKTOWN AND WILLIAMSBURG, and RAILWAY PRACTICE.
