Biographical notes:

a Norma Klein is the author of adult and young adult novels, and has written juvenile books and the novelizations of the television "Sunshine" specials. Her awards include Child Study Assn. of America's Children's Books of the year (1973), Maxi Award for Paperback (1975), New York Public Library's Books for the Teen Age (1980), School Library Journal's Best Books (1978), and an O. Henry Award (1983).

Norma Klein was born May 13, 1938, in New York City, and died there April 25, 1989, after living her entire life in New York City. She attended private schools, and graduated from Barnard College, with a Phi Beta Kappa, in 1960. She majored in Russian and Slavic languages. She began her writing career by writing short stories, mostly for literary quarterlies. After endless reading of picture books to her own daughter, she decided to try her hand a writing children's books. She has since written a large number of juvenile and young adult novels.
