Biographical notes:

Mayor of Milwaukee (1948-1960) under the Socialist Party/Progressive Party Federation banners. After office many interests were pursued including: community activism, labor arbitration, foundation work, teaching, resources development, and Socialist Party activities. Ran for president in 1975. Writer and lecturer on major current issues.
