Farnham, Russell, 1784-1832
Biographical notes:
Fur trader.
Born in Massachusetts, Russell Farnham was recruited in 1810 for the Astoria enterprise. Around 1817 he was placed in charge of the Mississippi and Missouri operations (Sauk, Fox, and Iowa outfits) of the American Fur Company. He died of cholera in St. Louis in 1832.
