Biographical notes:
Jesuit, theologian and author.
Stanton entered the Society of Jesus in 1935 and was ordained a priest in 1948. In 1972 he earned his doctorate from the University of Ottawa. His dissertation thesis was on the philosophy and work of John La Farge, a Jesuit who devoted his life to working for racial justice and improving the condition of Blacks in the Catholic Church. Stanton taught theology at Boston College and was the author of numerous articles.
