No biographical information on Charles Smith is available. John Walton (ca. 1738-1783) was born in Virginia. He was a delegate from St. Pauls Parish (Richmond County, Georgia) to the Georgia Provincial Congress, 1775, a member of the Georgia Executive Council, and a delegate from Georgia to the Continental Congress in 1778. His home was in Richmond County, where he was an active planter. His brother was George Walton.
