John Jervis, Viscount St. Vincent was a British naval officer who commanded the naval forces during the 1793 expedition to the West Indies and later served in the Mediterranean. He won fame and his peerage for his victory at the battle of Cape St. Vincent against the Spanish Fleet in February, 1797.
