Biographical notes:

The Longworth family was a prominent Cincinnati family. Nicholas Longworth I (1782-1863) moved to Cincinnati about 1803. He was an attorney who acquired extensive real estate holdings. Nicholas Longworth III (1869-1931) served in the Ohio and U.S. legislatures, was the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives and married Alice Lee Roosevelt. The Longworths were also related to the Storer, de Chambrun and Wallingford families.
