Philadelphia Quarterly Meeting was established in 11mo 1682/83; its first business sessions were held in 1683. At the time of the Separation in Philadelphia Yearly Meeting in 1827, there were two Philadelphia Quarterly Meetings. The Hicksite and Orthodox meetings were reunited in 1955, and several meetings were transferred to the newly formed Haverford Quarterly Meeting.
