Biographical notes:

Adolfo Odnoposoff was born on February 22, 1917, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He studied cello with Alberto Schiuma, Emanuel Feurermann in Berlin, and with Diran Alexanian in Paris. He then performed as a cellist in Mandatory Palestine, Peru, Chile, and Havana, Cuba where he met his wife, pianist Berthe Huberman. They became a distingished performing duo, and numerous composers dedicated works to them. The couple departed Cuba for Mexico City in 1957, and Adolfo Odnoposoff taught at the Conservatorio Nacional de Música in Mexico City from 1958 until 1964. The Odnoposoffs then relocated to San Juan, Puerto Rico, where he taught at the Conservatorio de Música de Puerto Rico. In 1975, the Odnoposoffs joined the music faculty at what was then North Texas State University. The Odnoposoffs performed their final concert together with Adolfo's brother Riccardo in 1986. Adolfo Odnoposoff died on March 13, 1992 in Denton, TX.
