Alonzo Lewis, Joshua Coffin, and William Lloyd Garrison were all involved in the New-England Anti-Slavery Society in various capacities. Coffin and Garrison were two of its founders. In addition to his abolitionist activities, Lewis was an historian, poet, and newspaper editor.
